Prown Tempura Recipe

 




Ingredients:

  • 1 pound.. large prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup ..all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup.. cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon ..salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon.. black pepper
  • 1 egg..lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup..ice water
  • Vegetable oil.. for deep-frying

Instructions:-

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour., cornstarch..salt.. and pepper....
  2. In a separate bowl.. whisk together the egg and ice water until well combined....
  3. Dip the prawns in the flour mixture to coat all over...
  4. Dip the prawns in the egg mixture.. then back into the flour mixture to coat again...
  5. Heat the oil in a deep heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat until a breadcrumb sizzles and turns brown when dropped into it....
  6. Carefully add the prawns to the hot oil in batches and fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through...
  7. Remove the prawns from the oil with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels...
  8. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce....

Tips:-

  • Use cold ingredients to make the batter. This will help the batter stay light and crispy....
  • Do not overcrowd the pan when frying the prawns. This will lower the temperature of the oil and the prawns will not cook evenly.
  • Serve the prawn tempura immediately. This will ensure that it is crispy and delicious....
