Chicken Manchurian

 


"Ingredients"

  • 250g boneless.. skinless chicken breast cut into small cubes
  • 1 egg white ..lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons.. cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon.. all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon.. ginger garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon.. soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon.. salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon.. black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon.. red chili powder (optional)
  • Oil for deep frying...

For the sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon.. vegetable oil
  • 1/2 onion.. chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic.. minced
  • 1 red bell pepper..chopped
  • 1 tablespoon.. tomato ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons..chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon.. soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup.. chicken stock
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch slurry (1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water)
  • Salt to taste..

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the chicken, egg white, cornstarch, flour, ginger garlic paste, soy sauce, salt, pepper, and red chili powder. Mix well to coat the chicken...
  2. Heat the oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the chicken in batches and fry until golden brown and cooked through...
  3. Remove the chicken from the oil and drain on paper towels...
  4. To make the sauce, heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened...
  5. Add the bell pepper and cook for 2-3 minutes more...
  6. Add the tomato ketchup, chili sauce, soy sauce, chicken stock, and cornstarch slurry. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened..
  7. Season with salt to taste...
  8. Add the fried chicken to the sauce and toss to coat...
  9. Serve hot with rice or noodles...

Tips:-

  • For a spicier dish, add more red chili powder...
  • You can also add other vegetables to the sauce, such as carrots, broccoli, or mushrooms...
  • If you don't have cornstarch slurry, you can dissolve 1 tablespoon of cornstarch in 2 tablespoons of water...
  • Serve the chicken Manchurian with some chopped spring onions for garnish...
