Mutton Stew Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 kilogram mutton, cut into chunks
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch piece of ginger, peeled and minced
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 cups water
- 1 carrot, chopped
- 1 potato, chopped
- 1/2 cup peas
Instructions:
- Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the garlic and ginger and cook for 1 minute more.
- Add the turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder, red chili powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Add the mutton and cook until browned on all sides.
- Add the water, carrot, potato, and peas. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 2-3 hours, or until the mutton is tender.
- Serve hot with rice or naan.
Tips:
- If you don't have time to simmer the stew for 2-3 hours, you can pressure cook it for 30-45 minutes instead.
- For a richer flavor, you can brown the mutton in a separate pan before adding it to the stew.
- If you like your stew spicier, add more red chili powder.
- You can also add other vegetables to the stew, such as green beans, zucchini, or mushrooms.
Enjoy...😊
